Beastie Boys

Beastie Boys opened Sonar 2007 on Thursday, June the 14th, with an instrumental show performing songs from their brand new album, The Mix Up.

The crowd doesn't know

The full line up comprehended: Michael Diamond (aka Mike D), Adam Yauch (aka MCA), Adam Horovitz (aka King Ad-Rock), Michael Schwartz (aka Mix Master Mike), Mark Ramos-Nishita (aka Money Mark), and Alfredo Ortiz. The set saw the Beasties playing guitar, bass guitar, and drums (plus the whole keyboards hardware) in an excellent show despite all the efforts from the stage technicians to mess things up.

Again, as a music show is not only a band on stage, part of the audience missed the meaning of the gig and pretended to hear Sabotage. As Horowitz said, come back tomorrow, same place, same hour.

Enjoy it now, love it later

The miniaturization of electronics has its own downturn at music show, plenty of people recording, shooting, snapping and filming to later youtube the show. Stage security guys are now mainly focused on spotting the illegal video recorders, the situation looks fairly post-surreal. Quoting Mike D, put your cameras and phone cameras away 'cos the show is now, here, and not later on You Tube. Enjoy it now, so you can love it later

I don't know if this is something happening just in Barcelona, or in Spain, but lately the photo pit is more and more full of obviously non professional photographers, using compact digital cameras, compact digital video cameras, and trust me I saw that more than once, mobile phones.
