Beastie Boys live @ Sonar 2007: the regular concert

Beastie Boys

After the opening night instrumental show, Beastie Boys performed the first night at Sonar, on June 15th, with their regular show.

A much more crowded audience attended, as the night was part of the Sonar abono, and everybody was happy enough to listen to the band classics. In my personal opinion this second Beastie gig was less interesting than the first show, Adam Horowitz looked to have a cold and the overall stage performance suffered a bit.

Beastie Boys live @ Sonar 2007: the opening night Instrumental Show

Beastie Boys

Beastie Boys opened Sonar 2007 on Thursday, June the 14th, with an instrumental show performing songs from their brand new album, The Mix Up.

The crowd doesn't know

The full line up comprehended: Michael Diamond (aka Mike D), Adam Yauch (aka MCA), Adam Horovitz (aka King Ad-Rock), Michael Schwartz (aka Mix Master Mike), Mark Ramos-Nishita (aka Money Mark), and Alfredo Ortiz. The set saw the Beasties playing guitar, bass guitar, and drums (plus the whole keyboards hardware) in an excellent show despite all the efforts from the stage technicians to mess things up.

Again, as a music show is not only a band on stage, part of the audience missed the meaning of the gig and pretended to hear Sabotage. As Horowitz said, come back tomorrow, same place, same hour.
