Oriana Fallaci (1929-2006)

Friday, September 15 2006

Aged 77 dies in Florence, Italy, journalist and author Oriana Fallaci. Mrs Fallaci was long suffering from cancer. (And still we don't know this all italian-press tabu of not saying the word: cancer).

A long time war correspondent, Mrs. Fallaci is world known for her interviews to such political figures as Henry Kissinger, Lech Walesa, Omar Khadafi, Deng Xiaoping and many more.

Her late thoughts on Islam arouse quite a controversy, and had the London Review of Books calling her the embarrassingly Islamophobic Oriana Fallaci in this piece called Bush’s Useful Idiots on lbr.co.uk.
