After the opening night instrumental show, Beastie Boys performed the first night at Sonar, on June 15th, with their regular show.
A much more crowded audience attended, as the night was part of the Sonar abono, and everybody was happy enough to listen to the band classics. In my personal opinion this second Beastie gig was less interesting than the first show, Adam Horowitz looked to have a cold and the overall stage performance suffered a bit.
Beastie Boys opened Sonar 2007 on Thursday, June the 14th, with an instrumental show performing songs from their brand new album, The Mix Up.
The full line up comprehended: Michael Diamond (aka Mike D), Adam Yauch (aka MCA), Adam Horovitz (aka King Ad-Rock), Michael Schwartz (aka Mix Master Mike), Mark Ramos-Nishita (aka Money Mark), and Alfredo Ortiz. The set saw the Beasties playing guitar, bass guitar, and drums (plus the whole keyboards hardware) in an excellent show despite all the efforts from the stage technicians to mess things up.
Again, as a music show is not only a band on stage, part of the audience missed the meaning of the gig and pretended to hear Sabotage. As Horowitz said, come back tomorrow, same place, same hour.
Sonic Youth played at Barcelona's Primavera Sound festival last Saturday the 2nd of June. As part of the ATP's Don't look back series, Sonic Youth performed Daydream Nation, their 1988 album. Possibly their best album. With no doubts one of the most important music album of the last 20 years.
Patti Smith performed at Primavera Sound, in Barcelona Spain, the 2nd of June. Find here pictures taken at the show, I've used a Canon EOS 30D, with a Canon 50mm 1.8 lens.
Modest performed at the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, Spain, Friday 1st of June. The band lined up singer/guitarist Isaac Brock, former The Smiths Johnny Marr, bassist/keyboard Tom Peloso, Eric Judy wasn't there (the guy apparently went MIA just before the tour started), Tom Peloso, and drummer Jeremiah Green.
The show presented the brand new Modest Mouse album, We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, as well as songs from their repertoire. Lead singer Isaac Brock showed up with a fresh blue eye, results of a close encounter of something solid (presumably a fist).
Blonde Readhead performed live at Primavera Sound festival on Friday 1st June. The band composed by brothers Amedeo and Simone Pace, and Kazu Makino presented their brand new album, 23, as well as songs from earlier works.
White Stripes performed live at Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, Spain, on Thursday the 31st. The Whites show presented their new album, Icky Thump. The gig was the band only show in Spain.
I'm trying to describe here, both in text and with the help of images, the replacement process of a broken or cracken LCD display of a Canon Digital IXUS 700 (SD500 in the USA) camera. The following procedure is the same I went through to change my own IXUS 700 display; even if this thing worked without a single problem for me, please consider that this repair voids your warranty and may damage your camera. If you consider following the step by step procedure you find here, you also agree doing it at you own risk.
Credit goes to Andy Ozment, the author of Replace the LCD screen on your Canon digital camera. Without his page my camera would probably still be in assistance somewhere, the following procedure is based on Ozment's one, differing in a few small things. The images are thought as a visual help guide to an operation that, while quite easy to perform, still has to do with a precision device as a digital camera is. While images and description are about the Digital IXUS 700, as pointed out by Ozment, this process has proven to be working on the following Canon models as well: Powershot SD-400, Powershot SD-300, Powershot SD-200, Powershot S400, Powershot S410, Ixus 400, Ixus 430, Ixus 50, Ixus 40, Ixus 30, IXY 55. Please consider Canon markets its camera models using different names depending on the market.
